Bài mẫu hoàn chỉnh cho dạng đề Agree or Disagree

Some people say that improving people’s lives is the most important aim of science. Although scientific research can also be carried out for other reasons, it is agreed that the main goal should always be to make everybody’s life better.

Science unquestionably exists with an objective of bettering people’s life quality. Oftentimes, scientific research is subsidised or funded by public resources; therefore, it is naturally expected that the results from these studies have practical applications to benefit society as a whole. Only by demonstrating clear positive impacts on human’s well-being can science fields prove it is useful and worth the initial investment. Though desirable results are not always immediately apparent, they are projected to come eventually. For instance, in the 20th century the field of neuroscience was starting to be recognised as an essential academic discipline as people got increasingly curious about the nervous system, its functions and disorders, which has encouraged scientists to find methods and cures to prevent or treat problems that affect the human brain ever since.

Admittedly, some claim there is another purpose of science, which is the pursuit of knowledge. According to this belief, the study of science fields provide an environment for constant intellectual discoveries, thereby helping push the boundaries of humankind’s understanding of the world. While this goal contributes to the general process of obtaining knowledge, it is not the central goal since benefits are usually confined to an individual rather than societal level. Whereas the researchers and scientists who carry out such scientific endeavours could gain certain improvements in overall comprehension, the rest of the community might not necessarily enjoy similar merits.

In conclusion, while intellectual pursuit can serve as a useful objective to some extent, the primary goal of science should be to improve everyone’s lives.
